Standardized/Simulated Patient Program
One student at a time: A Look inside the SP Program
The Standardized/Simulated Patient (SP) Program, coordinated through the Office of Medical Education (OMED), is dedicated to providing medical students with the opportunity to become more compassionate communicators and influential members of the medical community. The program is integral to the medical school curriculum, ensuring the opportunity in each curricular year for experiential, hands-on learning to enrich the student’s educational experience in clinical and interpersonal skills.
This portion of the OMED website is designed for learners who encounter SPs, for visitors who are interested in becoming SPs, and faculty or facilitators who wish to include SPs in their courses or training programs.
