Course Description
This course introduces students to the underlying pathophysiology and phenomenology of skin disorders, presenting basic approaches to assessment and management, to prepare them for clinical rotations.
Course Objectives
- Explain the etiology and pathogenesis of common dermatologic conditions.
- Demonstrate a systematic approach to describing the appearance of skin conditions.
- Correlate results from history and physical examination with results of various diagnostic tests (biopsy, laboratory, etc.) to diagnose dermatologic diseases.
- Explain the rationale for the workup and treatment of various skin disorders

Assessment
Assessment for this course is based on a cumulative, graded Summative exam.
